I married James Lofton 11-62 and had 2 children, Debby '63 and Todd '64. Moved to Lincoln NE 9-63. Jim got his Bachelor's and Master's degrees and we moved to Omaha in '70. I was a stay at home mother so did all the PTA, church, and 4-H activities. Divorced in '77. The children and I went to Europe, covering 9 countries for a month at Christmas break. What a learning trip for all of us. Went to work at US Natl Bank 77-81, First Data Resources 81-89, Radio Engineering 89-90, and Commerce Bank 90-2009! At Commerce was a credit underwriter for personal loans, auto and RV loans, plus credit cards which I thoroughly enjoyed. I retired 10-09!! I married a 2nd time '83 - '98 to a GM parts manager. The 3rd time is a miracle when I met my current and lifelong friend Jerry, Ford parts man. We married 2003 in Las Vegas by Elvis (yes he is still alive!) We attend many Elvis impersonator shows in the Omaha area.
We enjoy the College World Series every June. I have been attending since 1977! We have met a lot of friends from all over and who come to Omaha when their teams are playing. We have just returned 3-10, from Austin TX where we attended 7 Longhorn baseball games. Nebraska played one weekend and won one game. I have been a Texas fan since 1977! The Big 12 kinda puts a wrench into games when Texas and Nebraska play each other. My husband is for the Cornhuskers so we just admit to a divided household!
My daughter Deborra and husband Bruce Blay live in Twin Falls, Idaho. Debby and Bruce attended Wayne State College. They moved out to ID in 1990 from Kansas. They have 3 children, Christopher, 27, attended College of Southern Idaho and Utah State in Logan with computers and Japanese majors. He received his Bachelors and Masters and is now employed by Google in San Bruno, CA; Patricia, 25, attended College of Southern Idaho, is an RN at Twin Falls Hospital. She and Joel Conner married 7-2013 and are expecting their first child in Aug 2015; Great-granddaughter Elaine Jean Conner was born 8-16-15. She is called Lainey and Great-great grandma Mizell would love that name! and Erika, 22, graduated from Canyon Ridge High School in Twin Falls, College of Southern Idaho, and is now a student in pre-med at Pocatella, ID. Debby was a math teacher in the Miracle Valley School District and now is a teacher at Canyon Ridge. She and Bruce have divorced. Debby also teaches at College of Southern Idaho 2 nights a week.
Todd lives in Lincoln NE with his wife Stephanie. Both of them attended Univ of Nebr. Todd has his master's in Business. They also have 3 children. Harrison,21, graduated from SE High School and is now in the AF at Travis AFB CA but has moved to Colo Springs 3-16; Georgia, 19, graduated from Lincoln High School and is attending SECommunity College; and Rachel, 16, is a sophomore at SE High School. They were all in orchestra. Harrison played the violin and the girls played the cello. We enjoyed their visits and seem to need their advice at times to run the DVR or computer!
Jerry and I look forward to really beginning to enjoy retirement since all the snow this winter. Jerry has a daughter in KC with one son, Alex,16, and a son in Omaha with one son, Mitchell,16, and one daughter, Collette,12. We really enjoy being grandparents along with country dancing and College World Series, Dallas Cowboys, and the Cornhuskers! Hope to see you in McCook in July! Jerry and I spent our 10th anniversary in Paris for 10 days! We have been on an Elvis cruise in 2012. What an event with 10 Elvis impersonators and Ronnie McDowell. We just got back home after 6 weeks in Panama City Beach FL. This was our 3rd year of spending time there.
