I graduated from the University of Nebraska/Kearney in 1975 with a B.S. in Special Education. After working for an art supply store in Lincoln for a year after graduating, I returned to York, and worked for the pro shop at York Country Club and at Tom's Clothing for my brother-in-law, Tom Cox, MHS Class of 1960. I worked full-time for him for 23 years, then spent a year at Von Maur in Lincoln and have been in my current position as Executive Director of the York County Visitors Bureau since 2001. My kids are three four-legged characters: Howard the cat, Jack the schnauzer and Ruby the basset hound from hell. Besides work, I am involved with Yorkshire Playhouse on stage (35+ shows) and as a board member (25 years), York Adopt-A-Pet, York Ambassadors, Art Thingy and many other organizations. Collecting vintage movie memorabilia has been an interesting hobby since college.

Too many to mention...I do know that quite a few of us in the class of 1971 made life miserable for a first-year geography teacher in 9th grade...Mr. Schwartz, if I remember right. I spent more than one afternoon in dentention with him...for some reason, he didn't appreciate the humor in having chalk dust shaken on his chair, or having me pull a borrowed pair of panty hose out of the top drawer of his desk in front of the rest of the class when he made me sit his his chair as punishment for yet another transgression. Sorry, Mr. Schwartz...we were terrible teenagers!
