I left Nebraska in 1990 and moved to Oklahoma City. I worked for several years as a vet tech, then became assistant manager of a bowling center. In 1997, I enrolled at Francis Tuttle Vo-Tech and finished a 2 year accounting course in 8 months. I spent 5 years working as a team leader in the accounting department at the Sonic Drive In corporate office.
I've lived in Lawton for the last 5 years now, moving here to begin college at Cameron University. I'm on my way to a degree in Psychology (VERY slowly).
I am currently caretaker to my partner, who suffered an anoxic brain injury in 2005, and her 86 year old mother. Tracy had the IQ of a genius and was a systems engineer at Goodyear, doing work all over the world. It was a heart attack that ended life as we knew it. I did CPR for 8 minutes before the EMTs arrived. Enough to keep her alive, but not enough to keep oxygen going to her brain. She now has the IQ of a 7 year old and it won't get any better.
My days are full of doctor's appointments, it seems. I was diagnosed with lupus in 2004 after 10 years of suffering from "mystery" illnesses. Between the 3 of us, I'm not really sure who takes care of who some days!
I am also trying to keep a business afloat, but the economy has left my web site a very lonely place! You can check it out at www.cardjunkies.com. Special discount of 10% off with the promo code "McCook Senior High" used at checkout!
