After graduating from McCook High School in 1980, I obtained a degree in Music Business from Kearney State College. Of course I worked for Hershberger Music for awhile after graduation, but then married and moved back to Kearney. After holding several retail positions, I became the secretary of the Chemistry Department at KSC, which then became the University of Nebraska at Kearney. I took 6 years off to be a stay at home Mom and then in 1999 I became secretary to the Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. In 2004 I became the Campus Events Coordinator and am truly enjoying myself in that position. I am married to Jim, who is a professor of music at UNK. We have 2 kids. Jason is 18 and is currently traveling with a metal band, Give to the Winds, as the drummer. Kristin is a Junior at Kearney High and is active in music, art, and church activities. I also get to use my love for music playing, singing and running sound at my church as well as in a jazz combo, Platte River Jazz. Besides music, my other hobbies include distance running, weightlifting, golf and hanging with my family.
