Most of the 80's and 90's are a blur but unlike the 70's the blur was caused by the chaotic schedule of trying to raise a family, maintain a healthy marriage and carve out a career for myself. The kids have grown, celebrated 30 years of marriage in May and am retired. My name is not in any book nor in lights but I am alive, happy and still take the time to write inexpensive poetry (as if there were such a thing as expensive poetry). The word "Peace" slips into my vocabulary more frequently these days so perhaps I am beginning to slow down and realizing how special it was growing up within the quiet ethics of McCook.
