After leaving high school, I attended McCook Junior College and in 1967 graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University. My parents were stationed in Thailand where I spent some time teaching and then toured Europe as I made my way home.
My first job was working for the Y.W.C.A. in Worcester, MA as Assistant Director of Health, Physical Education and Recreation where I taught swimming and gymnastics. Two years later, I began teaching Physical Education at the secondary level for the Worcester Public Schools.
During the school year of 1981-1982, I matriculated at South Dakota State University where I received my MS in Physical Education. This was followed by four years in Loveland, CO where I worked at May D & F while caring for my ailing Mom. I then returned to the Worcester Public Schools where I taught for twenty more years.
Since my early retirement in 2006, I have enjoyed snow skiing, golfing, traveling, and summers on the coast of Maine. My travels have included visiting my brother, Frank, (Class of '64) in El Paso, TX. as well as many other family members throughout the country. Although I don't have grandchildren, I do have Kaylee and Aiden my grandniece and grandnephew that are the "lights of my life". They keep me entertained, smiling and wanting to visit them more.
For the past six years, I have enjoyed "mini-reunions" with my classmates Donna Knutson, Arlene Mannlein, Ruth Ann Ruby and her husband Don (Class of '60).
