ROBERT “BOB” GARCIA

Robert “Bob” Garcia, age 81, of the Shelton/Wood River area, passed away Friday, August 4.

A gathering of friends and family will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Shelton Community Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to a local charity of your choice. In honor of Bob, please wear pink. Condolences can be left at www.giallfaiths.com.

Bob was born September 8, 1941. He described himself simply as, “a father and a grandfather.”

However, to his family, friends, and all of the other lives he has touched, he was so much more. A loving and supportive dad and gramps, Bob always put his family first.

He taught his family patience, kindness, selflessness, unconditional love and more life lessons than could ever be listed. Bob loved his kids and grandkids during the brightest times in their lives, as well as their darkest times, his support never faltered. He loved to hear everyone laughing together, especially while playing card and board games.

Bob never wanted a big fuss to be made for him during his life, and he asked that a big fuss not be made in his death.

So, the family simply asks that if Bob brought a spot of brightness to your life in any way, spread that brightness on. Let your loved ones know they are loved, perform a random act of kindness, or wear his favorite color, pink.
