FRED LENHART

Fred Lenhart, 82, of Glenwood, IA passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the Tabor Manor Care Center in Tabor, IA. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at the funeral home. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood is caring for Fred and his family.

Frederick Charles Lenhart, son of Newton and Margaret (Karp) Lenhart was born on November 2, 1940 in McCook, NE. He received his education from McCook schools graduating in 1957. On November 4, 1963 he married Mary Eileen Price in McCook, NE. The couple was blessed with two children, David and Terri. The couple moved to Grand Island, NE in 1966 and lived there until 1979 when they moved to Glenwood, IA. He worked at the powerhouse as an engineer until his retirement.
Fred enjoyed fishing, riding his bike, baking and giving away his goodies to neighbors and friends. He volunteered through the Knights of Columbus. He went to the Conagra company store every week where he would donate items to the local food pantry.
Fred was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; brothers Gene and Donald; sister Joann.
Fred is survived by son, David Lenhart and his wife, Denise of Ankeny, IA; daughter, Terri Bomer of Glenwood, IA; granddaughters, Corey Madsen and her children, Dezzi and Haylee of Glenwood, IA, and Taylor Lenhart of Urbandale, IA; brother Ed Lenhart and his wife Kathy of Boise, ID; nephews and nieces; other relatives and a host of many friends.
