OMAHA, Neb. — Jim Beebe, 66, of Omaha, formerly of McCook, peacefully passed away on April 14, 2025. Jim’s life was a testament to devotion, dignity, and an unwavering love for his family.
Born on Jan. 27, 1959, to Harold Beebe and Dixie Wachholtz, Jim was raised in McCook, where he built a life filled with purpose and joy. For 33 years, he dedicated himself to his career at Parker, demonstrating the same determination and pride that defined his character. In McCook, Jim also started his cherished family, becoming a pillar of support and love for his children.
Jim was a devoted father who poured his heart into his children’s lives, actively participating in their sports, choir, camping, and fishing adventures. His warmth and generosity extended beyond his family as he embraced the role of Santa Claus for over 20 years, bringing joy to the McCook Chamber of Commerce and The Toy Box of McCook. Jim’s infectious love and kind spirit touched countless lives, leaving a lasting legacy in his community.
The greatest joys in Jim’s life were his children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, and the many dogs and cats he rescued and nurtured, giving them a new lease on life. A passionate Nebraska Husker fan, Jim cheered passionately for both the football and volleyball teams. In later years, he also found delight in supporting the Kansas City Chiefs, sharing in the excitement of their journey.
Jim is survived by his loving parents, Harold Beebe and Dixie Wachholtz; his beloved children, Mellisa Ellenwood, Jeromy Beebe, Amanda Cobb, and Derek Beebe; his cherished grandchildren, Gavin, Brandon, Craig, Rex, Lexie, Abbie, Jacob, and Callie; and his precious great-granddaughter, Lyla. Jim also had two adopted children; Patrick and Becka. Their lives are forever enriched by his boundless love and unwavering presence.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and granddaughter, Kaitlyn Beebe.
