MUNCIE—Mrs. Karl F. (Mary) Gasteyer, 70, Beverly Shores, died Sunday morning in Ball Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
She had gone to Muncie two weeks ago to be with her daughter and son-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Jack C. Moore.
Born in Omaha, Neb., she was a graduate of the University of Nebraska and held a Master’s Degree from the University of Chicago.
She taught for many years in Beverly Shores and Michigan City school systems.
Surviving in addition to her daughter are two sons, Charles E., Old Lime, Conn., and Philip, Washington, D.C.; and eight grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death. Private services and cremation are planned. Meeks Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Family requests that memorials be made to charity of donors’ choice.
