Mrs. Nora Drake, 70, died Sunday at St. Catherine Hospital. She was born in Frontier County on July 21, 1898 and grew up in that area. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nels Swanson. She taught school in the county and was married to Archie Drake in June 1924. They lived on a farm north of McCook until moving into town in 1940. He preceded her in death June 5, 1960.

Mrs. Drake was a 50-year member of the Memorial United Methodist Church, the WSCS Diamond Rebekah Lodge, World War I Veterans Auxiliary, and was a past president of the McCook Woman's Club.

She is survived by a son, Galen of Denver; a daughter, Mrs. Bob Quick of Greeley, Colorado; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Swantie and Fred Swanson, both of McCook, and a sister, Mrs. Belle Shepherd of McCook. Two brothers, John and Axel Swanson, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Harold Mitchell officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Herrmann Funeral Home.
