Esther Garrett Swanson died Sunday morning at Community Hospital in McCook at the age of 84. She was born Feb 1, 1899 to John H. and Mary E. (Moore) Garrett in Macon, Ne. On Dec 31, 1921 she was united in marriage with S. E. Swanson at McCook. She was a member of the United Memorial Methodist Church, past president of the United Methodist Women, past Worthy Matron of the Eureka Chapter O. E. S., W.W.I Auxilary and V. F. W.Auxilary. Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister Sarah Walter and a brother Howard Garrett. Survivors include her husband Swantie E. Swanson, a Daughter Mary V. ( Mrs. Don) Poore; son Bruce M. Swanson, all of McCook; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. at the Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev Merwin Davidson officating. Burial will be in Memorial park Cemetery under the direction of the Breland Carpenter Funeral Home. Memorials are being accepted in her name.
