Enlisted 12 December 1917 in Omaha, Nebraska. Assigned to Great Lakes Naval Training Station, Great Lakes, Illinois. Received a Honorable Discharge from Great Lakes at the rank of Ensign on 30 September 1921.
Affiliations included the Masons, 40-and-8, and American Legion (in Kenosha, Wisconsin; Malibu, California from 1925-54; Hollywood, California from 1954-1971, and Oregon City, Oregon from 1971).While in Los Angeles, he lived primarily at 712 1/2 S. Stanley Avenue, Los Angeles 36 and was a salesman for Earle C. Anthony Co., 9130 Wilshire Blvd., BR 2-1175.
