Alpha Omega is the eldest son of Charles Milton Bolles and Emily May Burton. Alpha grew up on his family's farm north of McCook in the Box Elder precinct. He graduated from McCook High School in 1928. Alpha attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, and after graduation returned to the family farm.

On June 20, 1942, Alpha married Della Mae Ventling. They brought two daughters into their lives, Shirley Ann born on April 21, 1943 and Judy Kay on born December 8, 1949. Alpha lost Della unexpectantly March 12, 1950. Alpha later remarried to Olive Hedges, and to this union brought two sons, Meredith and Merwyn.

Alpha grew up learning hard work on his family farm, he continued this tradition by purchasing a 10 acre piece of land where he farmed his own alfalfa field. Alpha created his own tractor from an old Model A Ford that replaced his need for the use of horses on his farm. He also built many other items by hand, including the remodeling his home. He also enjoyed playing the violin.

His technical aspirations lead him to owning his own business Alpha's Radio, Appliance & TV Service in McCook and this may be what Alpha is best remembered for.
