Megan Leann Hinson, age 32, passed away on July 9, 2025, in El Cajon, CA.

Born on May 13, 1993, Megan had a creative spirit and a wild heart that touched many lives. Her vibrant personality and sense of humor made her unforgettable to those who knew her well. Megan faced challenges with mental health and substance use, and despite her courage and determination, she was unable to overcome the challenges she faced.

Megan graduated from McCook Senior High School in 2010 and later moved to Fremont, Nebraska. She was active in the Sanctuary Christian Church and deeply committed to Celebrate Recovery, where she found strength, healing, and community. In 2017, Megan pursued her passion for helping others by attending the Randall School of Real Estate, earning her realtor license, and working as an agent with NP Dodge.

She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Brandi and Steve Renner of McCook, Nebraska; her father and stepmother, Micheal and Shannon Hinson of McCook, Nebraska; and her beloved children, Ashlynn, Aiden, and Troy Renner. Megan also leaves behind her sister, Carissa Bishop; brothers, David and Noah Hinson; stepsiblings, TJ, Nathan, Isabella, and Abigail Renner, Devin Flaherty, and Dylan Beaumont. She is also survived by her grandparents Teresa Hinson, Judy Mercer, Jay and Deb Hudgens, Dave and Judy Pfeffer, and Fern Renner, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Megan was preceded in death by her both her grandfathers, Dale Mercer and Steve Hinson.

A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Megan’s honor to a mental health organization of your choice.

Megan’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who remember her in her best years—with love, laughter, and the fierce spirit that made her truly one of a kind.
