David Linnemeyer - Class Of 1972

 

DECATUR, Ga. — David Dean Linnemeyer, age 65, of Decatur, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2020, in Decatur. David was born in McCook, Neb., on May 19, 1954, to parents, Clarence P. and Judith K. (Williams) Linnemeyer. He was one of five siblings who grew up in McCook, attending school and graduating from McCook High School with the Class of 1972. Following high school, David enlisted in the United States Navy. He proudly served his country on the USS Daniel Boone as an Underwater Fire Control System Technician from 1972 until his honorable discharge in 1976. David was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Christopher Callan; and niece, Marcia Callan. Those left to celebrate his life include his daughter, Noelle Linnemeyer of Rollinsford, N.H.; siblings, Patricia (Russ) Hockman of Monroe, Ga., Mary (Doug) Thorson and Debbie (Bob) Duckworth, all of Indianola, Neb., and Gary (Inez) Linnemeyer of Frenchtown, N.J.; loving friend, Liz Thomas of Decatur; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside memorial service with Military Honors will be at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested in David’s name and may be directed to Carpenter Breland Funeral Home, c/o the Linnemeyer Family, P.O. 476, McCook, NE 69001.
