Eileen Miller (Randel)

Eileen  Ruth (Miller) Randel

Eileen Ruth Randel, 66 of Indianola, died Friday, March 31, 2006 in Lincoln County, south of North Platte, as a result of a car accident.

She was born January 5, 1940 in Culbertson to John W. and Martha (Wagner) Miller. She grew up in Culbertson where she graduated from high school in 1957.

She attended Nebraska State Teachers College in Kearney and graduated in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Home Economics. She taught Home Economics at Chappell High School for two years and then taught at McCook High School from the fall of 1963 to the spring of 1967.

On June 13, 1965, she married Clifford Eugene Randel at the Culbertson Evangelical United Brethren Church. They made their home northeast of McCook. To this union three children were born, Michelle, Loretta and Brad. Eileen was instrumental in their farming and ranching business. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren and was very involved in their daily lives.

She was a member of the Indianola Church of Christ and attended McCook Christian Church. She was active in the Red Willow Ladies Club and the Red Willow County Extension Council.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents and also her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leon and Dorothy Randel.

Survivors include her husband Clifford of Indianola; daughters, Michelle Larington and husband, Dan, of Indianola and Loretta Hauxwell and husband, Brent, of McCook; a son, Brad Randel and wife Adrienne of Indianola; five grandchildren, Sara and Dane Larington, Kylee and Lexi Hauxwell and Addison Randel; two brothers, Donald Miller and wife, Gwen, and Roland Miller and wife, Jeannette, all of Culbertson; two sisters, Joan Hesterwerth and husband, Robert, of McCook and Lois Bartusiak and husband, Ray, of Littleton, CO; brother-in-law, Raymond Fisher and wife, Patsy, of Indianola; and many niece and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are being accepted in her name.

Funeral services were at McCook Christian Church with Pastor Clark Bates officiating. Burial was in the Indianola Cemetery.
