Stanley Gene Webster, 72, died Tuesday (March 11, 2003) at Community Hospital in McCook.

He was born Nov. 12, 1930, at Brush, Colo., to Frank and Lydia (Freehling) Webster. He graduated from McCook High School in 1949.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1954. He graduated from McCook Community College in 1956, and Kearney State Teachers College in 1959.

On Aug. 12, 1958, he married Marlene Kashka in Atwood. He was a chemist for Great Western Sugar Company for 19 years and for Southern Minnesota Sugar Beet Corporative for eight years. He then returned to McCook in 1987, after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene of McCook; two sons, Master Sergeant Gregory Webster and wife, Jill of Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., and Marc Webster and wife, Dalette of Alma; four daughters, Dr. Cynthia and husband, Robert Frederick of Arvada, Colo., Susan Webster of McCook, Yvonne and husband, Steven Sonnek of St. Clair, Minn., and Jennifer and husband, James Hillemeier of Byron, Minn.; two sisters, Louise Balius of McCook and Mary and husband, Jim Greeley of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one brother, Donald Webster and wife, Joann of Haigler; 12 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.

Mass of the Resurrection will be Saturday, 10 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook with the Rev. Gary Brethour officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at McCook.

Rosary will be Friday at 6:30 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.

Visitation will be today and Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook.
