Dwight F. Smith, 65, died Tuesday, December 29, 1992 at his home in McCook. The life-long resident of McCook was born February 18, 1927 in McCook to R. Dwight and Mildred (McChesney) Smith.
He was a 1945 graduate of McCook High School. He then served with the U.S. Air Force during World War II. After military service he attended McCook Junior College and graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1950. On December 29, 1956 he married Mary Hubbard at Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
He was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church of McCook; and a past member of Vestry and past senior warden.
Preceding him in death were his parents and twin brother, Donald.
Survivors include his wife of McCook; one daughter, Ann and husband, Philippe Lepretre of Charenton, France; one brother, Robert Smith of Woodland Hills, California; and two granddaughters, Margaux and Melanie.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in McCook with the Rev. Robert Trask officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Sunday and memorials may be given in his name and left at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook is in charge of arrangements.
