LILLIAN J. BEST
Lillian J. Best, 76, died Saturday (Oct. 6, 2001) at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.
She was born Aug. 25, 1925, at McCook, to Henry and Catherine (Sak) Hoff. She grew up in McCook and graduated from McCook High School.
On June 16, 1946, she married Ellwood Robert Best at McCook. They spent their married lives in McCook. She was employed as a receptionist at First National Bank in McCook from 1962 until her retirement in 1987.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church, Eureka Chapter No. 86, Order of Eastern Star, all of McCook.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ellwood on Dec. 31, 2000; and 10 brothers and sisters. Survivors include two sons, Robert Best and wife, Tish of Columbia, Md., and Scott Best and wife, Joanna of Erie, Colo.; two daughters, Debra Brandt and husband, Gary of Lincoln, and Jill Royse and companion Barry Ellis of McCook; 11 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
