Harold Brehm - Class Of 1942

Harold E. Brehm Tuesday, July 23, 2002 TACOMA, Wash. -- Harold E. Brehm,77, died Sunday (June 23, 2002) at Federal Way, Wash. He was born Sept. 20, 1924, to Sam and Katie Brehm in McCook. He spent his youth in McCook and graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1951. He served in the Europeon Theatre as a Surgical Technician in the U. S. Army during World War II. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to the University of Nebraska where he graduated in 1946, with a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering. He worked for a Nebraska engineering company for two years. On June 14, 1952, he married Cara Walker in Bayard. They moved to Seattle, Wash. where he was employed by Boeing Aircraft Company for 18 years. In 1974, they moved to Mountain Home, Idaho where he was employed by the Mountain Home Air Force Base as a Civil Engineer until his retirement in 1989. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, The Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 26. He served on the Finance Commission for the state of Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Cara; two daughters, Sally Ann Brehm Ring of Everett, Wash. and Katherine E. LaPella of Federal Way, Wash.; and three grandchildren.
