OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Robert E. Sadler died Thursday (April 19, 2007) at his home in Overland Park, Kan., at the age of 86.

He was born April 28, 1920, in McCook, the only child of Edward C. "Ned" and Gertrude (Rider) Sadler.

He grew up in McCook and graduated from McCook High School in 1938. Graduating from McCook Jr. College in 1940 and attending the University of Nebraska in Lincoln from 1940 - 1941. He began serving Stevens Bottling Company in McCook from 1941 to 1981.

On Nov. 20, 1943, Robert married Olive Moffitt in McCook and they spent most of their married life in McCook.

Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Olive Sadler of Overland Park,Kan.; one son, Gregg Sadler and wife, Debbie of Olathe, Kan.; and one granddaughter, Gina Newman and husband, Jason of Roeland Park, Kan,; and relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook with Rev. Dr. Jeffery Thurman officiating, Interment will be in Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given in his name to Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook or John Knox Village Hospice of Lee's Summit, Mo.

Friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Home in McCook Sunday and Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Herrmann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
