Orla Hobson (Harbor) - Class Of 1935

Orla Hobson Leitner Harbour Wednesday, February 6, 2008 Oct. 24, 1917 - Feb. 7, 2008 OKMULGEE, Okla. --?Orla Hobson Leitner Harbour, 90, of Okmulgee, formerly of Enid, Okla., died Monday (Feb. 4, 2008), in Highland Park Nursing Home in Okmulgee. She was born Oct. 24, 1917, in Hill City, Kan., to Orrell and Ethel Hobson. The family moved to a rural area near McCook. She graduated high school and went to college in Kearney to become a teacher. She taught school in a rural setting near McCook. She married Melvin Leitner on June 10, 1936. They owned and operated a farm raising wheat and cattle in rural Nebraska. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1961. After his death she moved to Enid, Okla., to be near family and attended Phillips University to acquire an Oklahoma teacher's certificate. She taught Emerson Junior High School in Enid for 10 years until 1977. She and Carlos Harbour married on June 24, 1966. He preceded her in death on June 15, 2004. After his death she moved to Okmulgee to be with family. She was a member of Abundant Life Temple in Enid and attended church there until health made it impossible.She was active in the church, teaching Sunday School. Survivors include her family members and friends. Graveside services will be Thursday at 3 p.m., in the Culbertson Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Karr officiating under direction of Brown Cummings Funeral Home. Memorials in her memory may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Breast Cancer?Division, with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
