Marvin Andrijeski - Class Of 1959

Marvin O. Andrijeski Monday, January 6, 2003 Marvin O. Andrijeski, 61, died Thursday (Jan. 2, 2003) at Community Hospital of McCook. He was born July 22, 1941, in McCook to Dorothy Faye (Romine) and George C. Andrijeski. He attended rural grade school, and then McCook High School where he graduated in 1959. After graduation he served briefly in the National Guard, before receiving a medical discharge. He then worked as a mechanic and welder at several different McCook businesses. He was last employed at Western Oliver, until the time of his marriage. During his spare time he built and raced dragsters. On April 17, 1971, he married Margaret Ann Duvel of Benkelman, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Benkelman. They then settled on the family farm north of McCook, where they have farmed and raised their family, for over the last 31 years. He was currently farming at the time of his death. He was not only well known for the love of his family but also his love for building and restoring cars and tractors, especially his El Camino and Oliver tractors. In his spare time, he could always be found working in his shop on one of his projects. He was a lifetime member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Ann Andrijeski of rural McCook; one son, Tony of Aurora, Colo.; three daughters, Regina Andrijeski of Curtis, Sheila and husband, Travis Werkmeister of rural McCook and Sonia Andrijeski of Lincoln; two granddaughters, Hayley and Erin Werkmeister; and one brother, Ron Andrijeski and wife, Phyllis of Holdrege.
