Cleotta Scott (Koester) - Class Of 1958

Cleotta Koester Scott, 64, of Boise, Idaho died Thursday, April 29, 2004, at her home. Funeral services were Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at Cloverdale Funeral Home, 1200 North Cloverdale Road, Boise. Burial was in Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens in Meridian, Idaho. Arrangements were under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise. Cleo was born and raised in McCook to James and Vera Scott. She attended St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing in Lincoln and became a registered nurse. She married Robert Koester in Montgomery, Ala., while he was in the Air Force. They moved with the Air Force until arriving in Lincoln, where Robert earned his PhD. They later divorced and she continued with her nursing in Wisconsin, Nebraska, Idaho and South Carolina. She loved Idaho and returned to live there and work. In her work, Cleotta was a very outstanding nurse and earned the professional qualification of certified rehabilitation nurse. She later worked at St. Alphonsus Psychiatric Center. She was a member of the Catholic church and was Eucharistic minister. She volunteered at the Veteran's home, with Meals on Wheels and with the Catholic Church prison outreach group, as well as the soup kitchen. She also enjoyed writing poetry, crocheting, knitting hats and gloves from the homeless, school children, friends and family, as well as baby outfits and Christening blankets for all friends and family babies. She loved birds and rock hounding. Cleo is survived by two daughters, Mary Alice Koester of Washington, Dr. Ann Margaret Wright and husband, Dr. Ronny of Fleetwood, N.C.; her grandchildren, Josiah, Benjamin, Gabriel and Abigail. She is also survived by two sisters, Verba Anderson and family of Trenton, Wanda Scott of Aurora, Colo.; two brothers, Rodger Scott of McCook, James Scott of Arriba, Colo.; three aunts, Ethel Clark of Reno, Nev., Goldie Clark of Graham, Wash., and Helen Stoumbaugh of Tacoma, Wash.; and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces and many cousins. She is also survived by a multitude of special friends including Margerite Asla and Belle and Jim Witt and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Vera Scott; a brother, George Scott; and an infant sister, Caroline Scott.
