Geraldine Cappel (Palmer) - Class Of 1958

EL CAJON, Calif. -- Geraldine Palmer, 61, passed away Tuesday (Oct. 1, 2002) at the Stanford Court Nursing Home in El Cajon, Calif. after a battle with cancer.
She was born March 11, 1941, in McCook to Glen and Loretta (Joyce) Cappel. She attended elementary school at Perry District 23 and graduated from McCook High School in 1958.

She married Larry Palmer in April of 1963. With the exception of a couple of years when they lived in Washington state, they lived their entire married life in southern California. To this union was born three children, Ginger, Stanley and Bryan. Geraldine served on the Lakeside School Board from 1982-1990. She was an active member and Sunday school teacher at the Shadow Mountain Community Church. She worked as a court clerk and supervisor for the El Cajon Court system retiring in 2000. Geraldine was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and friend. She will be most remembered for her infectious smile and her compassion and unconditional love for everyone she knew.

Preceding her in death were her father and her grandparents. Left to mourn are her husband, Larry of Lakeside, Calif.; daughter, Ginger and husband, Mark Olivo of San Diego, Calif.; two sons, Stanley Palmer and wife, Karen of Santee, Calif. and Bryan Palmer and wife, Amy of Lakeside; her mother, Loretta Cappel of McCook, two brothers, Claude Cappel and wife, Delores and Dick Cappel and wife, Kathie all of McCook; her sister, Donna and husband, Fred Callum of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Services were Oct. 5, 2002 at the Paris Frederick Chapel in El Cajon with Dr. Hal Stack as pastor. Interment was in the Singing Hills Memorial Park.
