Karen L. Meager

Karen L. Meager, 61, was born April 1, 1940, to Ralph C. and Pearl M. Meager, at Laramie, Wyo. Karen graduated from McCook High School in McCook in 1958. She received her degree in business administration and management in Denver, Colo. She worked in retail management for many years in both Montana and California. She worked in newspaper advertising in Colorado and Nebraska. For the last 14 years, she worked for the Billings Gazette in Billings, Mont.

Karen was an adventurous girl with a huge heart, who loved life and all it had to offer. She loved animals and would never turn away a stray. She once befriended an abandoned, sick baby deer and nursed it back to health. It became her faithful pet.

She was a hard worker with many creative talents. She loved painting, photography, swimming, bowling, camping, boating, traveling and cooking. She was an extraordinary tap dancer, and played softball in her high school years. She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Meager. Survivors include her mother, Pearl Meager of McCook; her brother, Dr. Phillip Meager and wife, Jolene of Medford, Ore.; her son, Ronald Egeland of Billings; her daughters, Cindy Kynoch and husband, Jeff of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Kristine Ehlert of Deer Lodge, Mont.; and her grandsons, Josh Ehlert and Adam Bloxham. Karen loved each and every member of her family with all her heart.

Karen will be greatly missed by all. She is in our hearts and prayers.
