Wayne Hauxwell - Class Of 1957

CAMBRIDGE -- Wayne Eugene Hauxwell, 69, died Monday (Jan. 12, 2009) at his home in Cambridge.

He was born in Indianola on Oct. 28, 1939, to Christopher "Jay" and Mildred A. (Stewart) Hauxwell. He grew up in the McCook area attending rural schools, District No. 30 and Perry School. He graduated from McCook High School in 1957. He continued his education graduating from McCook Junior College and Parks School of Business in Denver, Colo. He served in the Army Reserves during the Vietnam conflict.

He married Eva McGuire in December of 1963, in Denver. He was employed as a bookkeeper for McCook Equity Exchange, Stockman's Feed and Supply and Cambridge Farmer's Co-op for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Mildred Hauxwell.

Survivors include his sons, Rex and wife, Sophia of Ralston and Michael and wife, Leana of Council Bluffs, Iowa; sister, Janet and husband, Dale Heimer of McCook; four brothers, Richard and wife, Jeanie, Douglas and wife, Carol and Neal and wife, Margie, all of McCook and Ronald and wife, Bonnie, of Springfield, Mo.; step-mother, Selma Hauxwell of Arapahoe; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at a later date.
