Rodney Gene is the son of Roy Leslie and Nellie Emilie Katharina (Plourd) Nickerson. He first married JoAnne Kay Lindquist in Red Willow County, Nebraska on 22 October 1962. The marriage ended in divorce. He later married a Sharon (unknown) which ended in divorce, finally marrying a Janice K. (unknown). Most of his adult life was spent in Modesto, California.
