Son of Harold & Thelma (Walker) Russell.
He attended the McCook School in Red Willow County where he graduated in 1953. Then went to Western State College in Gunnison, CO.
Lester served in the US COAST GUARD as a damage controlman from 1954-1958. Was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
He was the father of Edward, Anne & Carol.
