Obit: Leland LeRoy Shadley, 66, died Friday, (July 9, 1999) at Great Plains Medical Center in North Platte. He was born Feb 19, 1933 at McCook to Clifford and Ruby (Wolf) Shadley. He grew up in McCook and attended McCook High School. He entered the U. S. Navy on Dec 28, 1950 and following his discharge on Dec 12, 1953, returned with his wife, Ann Bradley, to Texas. Ann preceded him in death. On Dec 20, 1969, he married Mary Williams at Amherst. They lived in McCook where he worked as a carpenter in commercial construction and was employed by Klein's Motor and Electric. Don Shepherd Construction and Roger Goltl. He retired in 1993. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church; the AARP; and Eagles Club. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Glen Shadley and Curtis Shadley. Survivors include his wife, Mary of McCook; Three daughters, Linda and Husband, David Donham, of Odessa, Texas, Dellene and Husband, Leon Gibson of Seattle, Wash; Della Schnoes of Florissant; one son, Terry Shadley of Seattle; one sister, Shirley Folkers of Farmington, N. M.; and six grandchildren. Memorial service will be Tuesday, 10 a.m. at Herrmann Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Phil Ewert officiating. Inurnment will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell. Memorial may be left at Herrmann Funeral Home. Hermann Funeral Home of McCook is in charge of arrangements.
