BURLINGTON, Colo. -- Delores Dorthea (Kunkee) Deines, 71, died Friday (Jan. 20, 2006) at Grace Manor Care Center in Burlington, Colo.

She was born Jan. 25, 1934, in rural McCook to Fred and Dora Kunkee. She graduated from McCook High School in 1951 and attended McCook Junior College.

She married William Clayton Deines of Oberlin on Dec. 6, 1953. The couple lived in Kansas and Missouri before moving to Burlington in 1962.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Raymond Kunkee; and brother-in-law, Earnie Hackenkamp.

Survivors include her husband, Bill; sisters, Kathy Kunneman and husband, Kenny of Imperial and Ruth Ann Hackenkamp of McCook; sister-in-law, Jean Kunkee of McCook; brothers, Delbert Kunkee and wife, Marilyn of McCook and Roger Kunkee and wife, Betty of Racine, Wis.; children, Grant of Kansas City, Kan., Brenda James of Burlington, Denise Abby and husband, Jim of Oberlin, Kent and wife, Connie of Burlington, Kristi Hartley and husband, Roger of Burlington and Scott of Wichita, Kan.

Services were Monday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Burlington with the Rev. Bill Viergutz officiating. Inurnment followed at the Fairview Cemetery in Burlington.

Memorials are being accepted in her name at the Trinity Lutheran Church in care of Brown Funeral Home, Box 97, Cheyenne Wells, CO 80810.
