Margaret 'Mickey' Rose Meguire

Margaret "Mickey" Rose Meguire, 69, died Tuesday (August 20, 2002) at Community Hospital of McCook.

She was born March 12, 1933, in McCook, to Paul Peter and Marie Matilda Johanna (Wind) Smith. She graduated from McCook High School in 1951. After her parents died in 1951 and 1953, she helped raise her two younger brothers. In her younger years she worked at Montgomery Ward and Hested's. On March 27, 1955, she married Ervin Warren Meguire in McCook. She was a homemaker and worked as a seamstress out of her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Antone "Tony" and Clifford Smith.

Survivors include her husband, Ervin Meguire of McCook; son, Michael Meguire and wife, Barbara, of Alda; daughter, Karen and husband, Bruce Bortner, of North Platte; two brothers, Raymond Smith of Bloomfield, N.M. and Allen Smith and wife, Pat, of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; four sisters, Esther and husband, Jim Needham, of Cambridge, Pauline Bradley of Littleton, Colo., Mary Ann Goelz of Columbus, and Lucille Fowler of Oberlin; and five grandchildren.

Memorial Service will be Friday, 10 a.m., at Carpenter Breland Chapel with Wallace Gummere officiating. Inurnment will be in Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, at 2 p.m.
