Jackie Campbell (Coyle) - Class Of 1950

Jacqueline Elaine "Jackie" Coyle died, Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at McCook Community Hospital in McCook, at the age of 75.

She was born Jan. 10, 1931, in McCook, Nebraska, the daughter of the late Charles and Faye (Harbaugh) Campbell. Jackie grew up and attended grade school in Yuma, Colo., and as a child the family moved to Evergreen, Colo. before returning to Yuma. She graduated from McCook Senior High School in 1950.

On June 18, 1950, Jackie married Ervin Gerald "Jerry" Coyle at McCook. They resided at Holdrege, Nebraska for four years before moving to a farm in Hayes County. They moved to Culbertson in 1963 and then to McCook in 1988 where she spent the remainder of her life.

She was preceded in death by an infant son Ronald Dean Coyle and by a teenage daughter Tracey Lee Coyle on Jan. 29, 1970. She was a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother who also helped on the farm. Her pride and joy was her family and she attended all her grandchildren's events.

Her love of animals lead her to help the Humane Society find homes for abused or neglected animals and she kept her bird feeder full for the birds she loved.

She was member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Culbertson.

Jackie is survived by her husband Jerry Coyle, one son Neal Coyle and one daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Funk and her husband Ken, three grandchildren; Brenden Funk, Nichelle Funk and Camden Funk all of McCook. One sister Peggy Ruberg of Yuma, Colo. She will be missed by her family and many friends in Yuma, Culbertson, McCook and Hayes County.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 6, 2006 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Culbertson with the Rev . Bradley Rick officiating. Interment will be in the Culbertson Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in her name and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Home in McCook from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
