He married January 1, 1930∼Cliff, age 86, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1995 at Heritage of Wauneta. He was born Nov 5, 1908 in Hitchcock County to Raymond R. and Bertha Bowersox Smith   He graduated from McCook High School in 1926 and was a long-time resident of Palisade, On Jan 1, 1930 he married Ardith G. McCormick. He was a 47-year member of the Palisade Masonic Lodge and served 17 years on the fire department. In the 1930s he had a gasoline transport business and hauled fuel throughout southwest Nebraska. He was also in the construction business. From the 1930's to 1957 he had an automobile dealership and repair shop in Palisade. He worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, constructing missile sites from 1957-1967.  Then in 1968 he returned to his auto repair ship in Palisade
