Elsie Fredrickson (Collison) - Class Of 1922

CAMPBELL -- Elsie I. Collison, 97, died Monday (Jan. 20, 2003) at the Grandview Manor Nursing Home in Campbell. She was born April 12, 1905, in McCook, to John and Marie (Lawitson) Fredrickson. She graduated from McCook High School. She attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and graduated with a teachers certificate in May 1927. She taught for two years at Wymore and then Ord. On June 2, 1932, she married Oliver E. Collisson. They moved to Campbell from Ord in 1932. She also taught at St. Paul and Campbell as a substitute. She was instrumental in starting the Campbell School Band. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Campbell. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oliver in 1985; two sons, Gaynor and Robert; two brothers, Kenneth and Lester and one sister, Vera Fredrickson. Survivors include a daughter, Vera Smith of Athens, Ohio; two sons, Larry of Palm Springs, Calif., and Bud of Bladen; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, 10 a.m., at the Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Campbell with the Rev. Mark Diehl officiating. Burial will be Thursday, 2:30 p.m., in the Memorial Park Cemetery at McCook.
