Julie Linnemeyer (Thomsen) - Class Of 1967

McCook Daily Gazette 8 Sept 1998 Julie Ann Linnemeyer Thomsen Julie Ann Thomsen Julie Ann Thomsen, 48, died Friday (Sept 4, 1998) at Community Hospital in McCook. She was born Sept 25, 1949, at McCook to Richard “Dick” and Jean (Loghry) Linnemeyer. She grew up in McCook and graduated from McCook High School in 1967. She graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1970. On Aug 30, 1969, she married Lanny Thomsen at McCook. They lived in Lincoln where she taught school at Randolph Elementary School. She received a master’s degree in counseling elementary Education and a second master’s degree in the gifter program from Kearney State College. They moved to McCook in 1976 and she taught at Central Elementary, North Ward and at the time of her death, East Ward Schools. She was a member of the Eureka Chapter No. 86, Order of Eastern Star; the Tehama shrine Club; Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority; and the Nebraska Educational Association. She was also a member of the Southwest Reading Council. She was preceded in death by one sister, Susan Linnemeyer on Aug 31, 1976. Survivors include her husband, Lanny Thomsen; two daughters, Amanda Thomsen and Alexis Thomsen; her parents, Dick and Jean Linnemeyer; one sister, Connie and husband, Dave Haller; and one brother, Rick Linnemeyer, all of McCook. Services are Wednesday, 10:30 am, at the First Congregational Church with the Rev. Phil Ewert officiating. Cremation will follow the service and inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at McCook. Friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Home, the casket will remain closed at her request. Memorials may be given in her name and left at the funeral home. Herrmann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
