JAMES C BEST

James C. Best, 43, of Walden, died Tuesday August 9, 1988.

He was born Jan 3, 1945 in McCook, NE, a son of R.V. and Florence (Brooks) Best. He grew up in McCook and graduated high school there in 1963. He attended Kearney State College and McCook Jr. College before he entered the US Air Force serving until 1968.

Following his discharge he moved to Walden where he had spent many summers while he was growing up. Mr. Best worked at the mill and was self-employed as a logger/trucker.

Surviving are his brother, John Best, a niece Jill Best and a nephew, Jack Best, all of Central City, NE and an uncle, Dr. Robert Best of Holdrege, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services were conducted Friday, Aug 12, at 11 a.m. at the North Park Community Church in Walden, the Rev. Willis Ludlow of the University Common Ministry officiating.

Memorial graveside services were held Saturday, August 13, at Farnam Cemetery, Farnam, NE. Stryker Funeral Home was in charge of the local arrangements.
