I have only been back to McCook twice since graduation. The last time was for the 45th reunion. At that time I visited Richie's gravesite. I wasn't close to him in school. I just remember that he was very intelligent and an excellent athlete. He was my partner during the processional and recessional at our graduation. I remember feeling lucky to have been matched up with him. I also remember that he was so allegiant to his close friends. I hope that his life was a fulfilling one.
Rich and I played football, baseball and basketball in high school. He was my roommate in college at the University of South Dakota where he was a quarterback on the football team. He was responsible for beating the University of Montana in our opening game in 65 . Tom Cotton
