Clyde Elwood Swartz, 59, died Tuesday (October 2, 2001) at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

He was born July 13, 1942, at McCook to Clyde and Mary Lucille (Finch) Swartz. He graduated from McCook High School in 1961.

On Oct. 10, 1964, he married Sandra S. Fortkamp at McCook. He lived in McCook his entire life. He worked at the Electric Hose & Rubber Plant.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary; one brother, Leonard; and a sister-in-law, Donna Swartz.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra of McCook; two sons, Troy and wife, Jennifer of McCook, and Shannon and wife, Sonia of Lexington; one daughter, Kristie Brown and husband, James of Quantico, Va.; his father, Clyde Swartz of Beaver City; two brothers, Mike Swartz of Thornton, Colo., and Kevin and wife, Mary of Dumas, Texas; and five grandchildren.

Services were at the Evangelical Free Church in McCook with the Rev. Bruce Lester officiating. Interment was at the Riverview Cemetery in McCook.
