Terry Jewell - Class Of 1961

SANTA YNEZ, Calif. -- C. Terrol "Terry" Jewell of Santa Ynez, Calif., passed away peacefully in his home on Aug. 5, 2007. He was born in McCook, Neb., on Dec. 30, 1942, to Francis Jean Fitch (Jewell) and Clifford Troy Jewell.

Terry was born and raised in McCook where he excelled in football as a McCook Bison. He moved to Santa Barbara in 1960, and after graduating from Santa Barbara High School in 1961, he attended Long Beach State College. He was married to Kathleen Clark to the union of one child, Michael Shawn, born in 1964. In 1969, he was married to Sue Harrison. They had two children, Patrick Dee and Clifford Troy. An avid car enthusiast, he helped to found the first car clubs in McCook while still in high school. He was also an active member of the Elks Lodge for 41 years. He will always be remembered for his devotion to his children and family, and his generosity and zest for life.

He was survived by two sisters, Diane Jewell of Malibu, Calif. and Nancy Tarnutzer (Jewell) of Newport Beach, Calif.; one brother, Robert Jewell of Santa Barbara, Calif.; his sons, Michael Shawn Jewell of Santa Ynez, Patrick Dee Jewell of Boerne, Texas, and C. Troy Jewell of Bandera, Texas; and five grandchildren with one on the way.

He was proceeded in death by mother, Jean, father; Cliff and step-mother, Helen.

There was a memorial at the Elks Lodge in Santa Ynez.  Memorials may be made to the Elks Lodge of Santa Ynez in memory of Terry.
