Julius L Corder, adopted son of John D. and Dorothy Corder of McCook, went to be home with his Lord Jesus Christ on Sept. 17, 2007, at the Carl T. Curtis Health Center in Macy, after a very long illness with diabetes.

He was laid to rest at the Omaha Tribal Cemetery on the Omaha Indian Reservation in Macy on Sept. 21, 2007.

Julius was born March 18,1958, at Winnebago. He was adopted at the age of five years old by the Corders, who also had two other children, James E. Corder of Alameda, Calif., and Diana L. (Corder) Gull of McCook.

Julius spent all his school years in McCook and after school went to California to live with his brother, Jim. He attended medical school in California. While in medical school, he did commercials to pay for his schooling, joined the actors guild and did many movies. He played the roll of Richard Yellowhawk in the movie, "Thunderheart".

He was an active member of the A I M (The American Indian Movement). He was chosen to represent the American Indian Nation in Switzerland. He also attended the Assembly of God Mission Church on the Omaha reservation.

Julius is survived by his adopted parents, John D. and Dorothy Corder of McCook; adopted brother, Jim Corder of Alameda, Calif.; adopted sister, Diana Gull and husband, Charlie of McCook; two nieces, Veronica Anderson and husband, Rob of Kearney and Angela Felber and husband, Todd of McCook; five nieces and nephews, Dylan, Kayla and Jayce Anderson of Kearney, Trevor and Tate Felber of McCook; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Also great-aunts and uncles.

He is greatly missed by all of us who loved him.
