LINCOLN -- David Hald was born Sept. 29, 1969 in Cozad. He died Jan. 2, 2004, in Lincoln.

He attended grade school in Curtis through the third grade. He attended the JP Lord School in Omaha during the fourth grade. Dave attended special education classes in Culbertson during the fifth and sixth grades. He attended school in McCook from seventh grade through the twelfth grade. Dave graduated from special education from McCook High School in 1981.

Dave worked at Goodwill in Grand Island for a few months. He attended the PAKS workshop i Ogallala for a few years and worked part-time at Wendy's. Dave then came back to Curtis and delivered daily newspapers.

Dave moved to O.U.R. Homes in Lincoln in October 1998. He was living there at the time of his death.

Dave like flowers, working with wood, animal and Husker football. He is survived by his parents, Dick and Thelma of Curtis; a brother, Ron; sister-in-law, Cindy; two nephews, Eric and Seth of Holdrege; aunts, uncles and cousins.

Dave was baptized in the Presbyterian Church in Cozad. He was confirmed and was a member of the Congregational Church in Curtis.

A private, family service was at the Curtis Cemetery on Wednesday, March 10, 2004.
