GRAND ISLAND, Nebraska -- Victor Wayne Brown, age 52, formerly of Trenton, Nebraska, died at the Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska, on Nov. 25, 2013.

He was born in McCook, Nebraska on June 3, 1961, to Charles and Verna (Hovey) Brown. He attended grade school in Trenton and later graduated from McCook High School in 1980.

Victor moved to Grand Island in 1982, during this time he worked for Pizza Hut restaurant and most recently was detailing autos for dealerships in Grand Island. Victor loved to participate in the Special Olympics and has won several medals. He loved to volunteer. He was a dog walker at the Humane Society and also volunteered to help veterans at the Nebraska Veteran's Home. Victor took pride in his work as a volunteer.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents, mother, Verna in 1976 and father, Charles, in 1978; brothers, Charles "Chuckie" in 1975 and Troy in 1970.

Victor is survived by his aunt, Sharon Brown Schuster of Omaha; cousins, Cermit Brown, Wendell Wertz, Merlin Brown, Tom Hovey and Terry Hovey; along with his special caregivers and house parents, Frank and Cindee Nickel of Grand Island, Nebraska.

Funeral services will be at the Bethel Mission Church in Culbertson on Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Jason Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Trenton Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in Trenton on Thursday.
