Kenneth Richard Bald

Kenneth Richard Bald, 26, Silver Springs, MD., died Oct. 16, 1972 at Walter Reed Hospital. He is survived by his widow, Ann; his parents, F. Louis and Wanda Bald of McCook; a brother Ron of Naperville, ILL.; a sister, Linda Clark of Houston, Tex.; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Hogg of Shelton; two nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sondra Elaine, and an infant brother.
 
He was born Aug. 31, 1946 in Grand Island, later moving to McCook where he attended school. He graduated from McCook High School and McCook College and received his BA degree in Economics from the University of Nebraska. He attended Officer Candidate School at Ft. Belvoir, VA where he was commissioned as a lieutenant before serving with the 51st Military Intelligence Unit of the 25th Infantry in Hawaii.
 
He married Ann Turnbull at Schofield Barracks,  June 18, 1971. After his medical discharge from the Army in March, he and his wife lived at 1608 East-West Highway, Apt. 244, Silver Springs. He was enrolled as an accounting student at Montgomery College. He was a member of McCook Lodge No. 135 AF&AM.
 
Military services were held Oct. 19 at Ft. Myer Chapel with burial in Arlington Cemetery, WA, D.C. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
