Peggy Anne Poore, age 93 of McCook, Nebraska went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 08, 2025 surrounded by beloved family. Peggy was born on a farm north of Traer, KS, on May 23, 1932, to Emery and Louise Kelly. She married her college sweetheart and the love of her life, Dale Poore, on March 30, 1952. They spent 68 wonderful years together. To this union, two sons were born, David Scott and Daniel Dean.

Peggy attended Traer Grade School and Curtis High School, graduating in 1950. She attended both McCook Community College and Kearney State Teachers College, graduating in 1957. Following graduation Dale and Peggy moved to Benkelman NE where Dale started his coaching and teaching career and Peggy would care for their 2 boys. In 1960 they moved to Arapahoe and Peggy began her teaching career. She completed her masters degree in guidance and counseling while teaching at Arapahoe Public Schools for 16 years. 1979 saw her and Dale return to McCook where she taught for another 26 years. Peggy spent the last 3 ½ years of her life in Omaha NE.

Peggy wished most to be remembered for her deep and abiding faith. It was her unwavering belief that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is our true and only source of salvation. From a very young age, she understood God’s presence in her life. When she was just 2½ and gravely ill, it was her mother’s desperate prayer that reached Heaven, and the gift of life she received was nothing short of a miracle. That moment shaped her forever. She carried with her a steadfast conviction that God would see her through any obstacle, and she cherished her faith as a treasured gift, one she and Dale held dear throughout their lives. To Peggy, Heaven was the promise of peace, love, and eternal life for all who believe. She will be remembered as an extraordinary friend and an irreplaceable member of her family. She loved her family with a depth and devotion that guided every part of her life, and she extended that same warmth to her friends, who became like family to her. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel seen, valued, and welcomed. Whether gathering around a table, sharing stories, or offering her steady support, Peggy enriched the lives of everyone blessed to know her. Her kindness, loyalty, and genuine love made her a constant source of comfort and joy. As a teacher, Peggy was nothing short of extraordinary. She believed with her whole heart that every child deserved to feel included, important, and loved and she lived that belief every single day in her classroom. Her students felt safe, encouraged, and truly known by her, which is why so many proudly called her their favorite teacher. Peggy had a rare ability to recognize potential in every child and to nurture it with patience, creativity, and compassion. Her impact reached far beyond the classroom walls and continues to live on in the countless lives she touched.

Preceding Peggy in death was husband Dale and son David. Peggy is survived by Dan and wife Anne of Omaha. Two granddaughters; Ashley and husband Robbie Kyrklund of Elgin, AZ. Amanda and husband Angel Hull of Omaha, NE. Daughter in-law Mary Anne Poore of Cozad, NE.
