Derek Bodeman (Bodeman) - Class Of 2001

 

 Derek Gregory Bodeman, 27, of North Platte passed away May 6, 2009, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
     He was born Oct. 29, 1981, to Kirk and Becky Terry Bodeman at North Platte. Derek graduated from McCook High School and went on to graduate from North Platte Community College. He was employed by the Nebraska Department of Roads, where he was senior highway maintenance.
     Derek was an avid hunter and fisherman. He attended the Evangelical Free Church in McCook and His Place Church in North Platte. Derek''s family and friends were very important to him and he enjoyed helping people.
     He was the president of Flatwater Archery and a member of the Maniohuta Archers.
     Survivors include his mother Becky of McCook; father Kirk (Liyan) Bodeman of North Platte; sister Libbi (Brett) Harsh of Topeka, Kan.; brothers Josh (Misty) and Blake Bodeman all of North Platte; nephew Cole Bodeman; nieces Jaylin and Kaylee Harsh; and grandparents Curtis and Patricia Bodeman of Hayes Center and Gene and Dorothy Terry of Lewellen.
     He was preceded in death by grandmothers Wanda Bodeman and Doris Terry.
     Online condolences may be shared at www.carpentermemorial.com.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Maniohuta Archers Youth Archery Day.
     Services were May 11 at the Bethel Evangelical Free Church with Brett Terry officiating.
     Carpenter Memorial Chapel of North Platte was in charge of arrangements.
