McCOOK, Neb. — Kenneth E. Keslin, age 43, of McCook, passed away in McCook on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2020, from a work related accident.

He was born to Robert William and Mary Virginia (Martin) Keslin on July 20, 1977, in Arlington Heights, Ill. The family moved to McCook when Ken was in fifth grade; he attended school in McCook and graduated from McCook High School in 1996.
Ken joined the United States Army Reserve after graduation, joining on Sept. 1, 1997, and was honorably discharged on Sept. 15, 2004. On April 10, 1999, Kenneth married Jessi Lea Brown at the Congregational Church in McCook. The couple made McCook home and would soon welcome daughter, Kora, and son, Van, to the world. Ken worked at Walmart in McCook during high school and after graduation. He was employed by Wagner Ford of McCook for several years, before going to work for the City of McCook, in 2004, as a waste water treatment operator; he served the city for nearly 16 years.
Ken was happy being outdoors, especially working in his yard, and he was passionate about frisbee golf and enjoyed pheasant and squirrel hunting. He loved cats, especially his four: Lucy, Snigglefritz, Georgie and Frankie. Ken was an avid fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Chicago Bears. He took time to restore his 1970 Chevy Impala and will be remembered by most for his love and passion decorating for Halloween. Ken was a member of the McCook Masonic Lodge No. 135, and was the current Worshipful Master.
He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents, Kenneth and Julia Martin of McCook, and Emil and Mary Keslin of Chicago.
Survivors include his wife, Jessi Keslin; 17-year-old daughter, Kora Keslin, and 15-year-old son, Van Keslin, all of McCook; mother, Mary Keslin and husband, George Huff of McCook; sister, Catherine McGehee and husband, Park, of Auburn, Ala.; brother, Robert Keslin and wife, Sandy, of Bark River, Mich.; in-laws, Marion and Sandy Brown of McCook; sister-in-law, Bobbi Jones and husband, Billy, of McCook; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday morning, Sept. 11, 2020, at Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook with Pastor Jeff Kelley officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
