BATON ROUGE, La. — Jill Marie Mitchell, 48, of Baton Rouge, passed away from cancer on Oct. 28, 2020, at the Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, also located in Baton Rouge. She died surrounded by the love of two of her children, Kareem (KJ) and Kimora Mitchell and her sister, Faith.

Born Jill Marie on July 9, 1972, in Atlanta, Ga., she was adopted on July 21, 1972, by Dr. Emanuel Charles Beyer and wife, Shelly Avis Beyer, who were living in Chesnee, S.C., at the time. The family later moved to Virginia and moved once again to Nebraska.

She attended St. Patrick’s School and McCook Senior High School in McCook, Neb., before graduating from Denver Academy in 1990. She spent most of her short life taking care of the needs of others as a certified nursing assistant. However, she achieved her spot in the limelight later in life as an extra on NCIS New Orleans and several other television shows and movies.

She is survived by her three children, Benjamin, Kareem Jr. and Kimora; her brother, Brian, his wife, Alison and their daughter, Caitlin; her brother, Jon, his wife, Shelley and their son, Nicholas; her sister, Faith, her husband, Matthew and their son, Oskar; her stepsister, Jennifer and stepfather, Steven; her aunt, Sandi; numerous cousins, and countless friends.

She is to be cremated and her ashes spread in the spring on Payette Lake, in McCall, Idaho, her mother, Shelly’s, final resting place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to 529 educational funds for her young children, KJ and Kimora, by emailing faithbeyerhansen@gmail.com.
