Timothy W. Matson

McCOOK, Neb. — Timothy W. Matson, age 51, of McCook, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 25, 2021, in McCook.

Tim was born Oct. 24, 1969, in McCook to parents, Raymond J. and Charollette L. (Decker) Matson. He was one of four children who grew up in McCook, graduating from McCook High School with the Class of 1988.

On July 20, 1991, Tim married Lisa (Weiss) Matson in McCook. To this union three children were born. Tim was employed by Parker Hannifin in McCook.

Tim enjoyed watching pro wrestling, shooting pool, hunting and fishing. Working with the animals at the McCook Humane Society was one of his favorite past times. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Tim was a member of the American Pool Association and the McCook Eagle’s Club.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to celebrate his life include his ex-wife, Lisa Weiss of Imperial, Neb.; children, John Matson of O’Neil, Neb., Kathleen (Cameron) Weishapl and Amanda Matson and fiancée, Phillip Smith, all of McCook; brothers, Raymond Matson of Kearney, Neb., and Max Matson of McCook; sister, Laura (Allen) Gidcumb of McCook; six grandchildren, Winrey, Lydia, Ephraim, Nova Hadsyn, Everly and grandson, Robert, on the way; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Graveside memorial services will be at 11 a.m., on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook with Pastor Dr. Walt Ray officiating.
